IVACE+i Innovación has awarded Madeinplant a grant under the Talent Promotion programme, L3 Industrial PhD Candidates (Innodocto), for the project “Development of tools for plant genetic improvement using New Genomic Techniques (NGTs)” (INNTA3/2025/21).
With a total eligible investment of €82,350.00 and a grant award of €38,007.50 for the 2025–2027 period, the project aims to optimize advanced NGT-based tools to accelerate plant breeding and genetic improvement in strategic crops of the Valencian Community, focusing on:
- Traditional Valencian tomato varieties, with the goal of enhancing nutritional quality by increasing carotenoids, flavonoids, and other antioxidant compounds.
- Citrus, targeting traits of high agronomic and commercial interest such as reducing the number of seeds.
